Ok so I'm overhauling my PC with a bunch of new parts (treating myself) and on plugging them all in and switching on, the fans and lights start up for a second and then nothing. I assumed it was a problem with power so I unplugged everything save for the Mobo/CPU (the 4-pin connector and the longer 24?-pin). The problem persisted and now I have no idea what to do.

I have tried it with two different PSUs in two different mains sockets and the response is the same, a second of power and then nothing.

These are the specs:

Case: CiT Vantage Midi Mesh Gaming Case with HD Audio, 4 Fans, Card Reader

PSU: OCZ OCZ-CXS500W-UK CoreXStream Series 500W Power Supply

Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard

CPU: AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core (3.5/4.1GHz, 8MB Level 3 Cache, 6MB Level 2 Cache, Socket AM3+, 95W)

Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6870

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tom
