hdd not detecting when installing windows 7

Hi..a few days back my segate internal 250gb hdd got damaged.but luckily it was under warranty so i got it replaced.now i wanted to install windows 7 but whenever i go to select the partition where i want to install a fresh a copy i cant find my hdd there. Also if there is abscence of driver or something plzz tel me the name of driver and where i can find it.thanks in advance...ur help will be really apriciated.

Are you sure both the Sata and power cable are securely connected, sounds daft but first thing i would check,

Also if you go into the BIOS it should show it listed as a boot device, if not when you turn the machine on can you hear the HDD spinning up?

Yes my bios is detecting my hdd and my hdd is spinning.whrn i go to select the location it asks me to load mass storage driver.since i have a gigabyte motherboard therefore i checkd the driver disk dat came with it but even then i wasnt able to get any suitable driver.
