Hi guys :) Sorry for the silly question, But is it really normal that i reach about 65-70 While Playing BF3 at high settings? My System Specs are : ASrock 970 Extreme 3 AM3+, MSI Radeon HD 7870 GHz OC, 16 GB RAM, Kingston HyperX 120GB, MSTech 750W PSU, AMD FX-6100 3,3Ghz Hexacore.... Starting to wonder when i Can Run ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead on Very high settings, tho i know ARMA 2: OA is a more CPU using Game, Or is it just that i need more cooling? I'm Using a Xigmatek Midgard Case With one 120mm Rear Fan and a 140mm Front Fan, Please Help!

thats way to high for a fx 6100

what cpu cooler are you using like the guy said also i would recomend you change cpu to fx 6350 or fx 6300 bulldozer has frame issues with most games and latency issues with windows 7 only windows 8 however helps both

but bulldozers single process is well below average

also keep any eye on that motherboard and dont occ to high on it if you ever do as it only has a 4+1 phase which isnt very good for occing and the board itself isnt well stable as i had 2 of these boards fail on me

if your using the stock cooler

a cheap alternative

Scythe SCBSK-2100 Big Shuriken 2 Rev.B Low Profile CPU Cooler is a good quiet cooler should range you down to 36c to 45c on load on heavy 50c

I'm Running on The Stock CPU cooler That comes with The box when you buy it. But i still Find it strange that i'm Running an ARMA 2: OA Server on Very High settings on Lower Temp than When playing BF3 on high settings While i actually can run it on Ultra With 60 fps :/ So the thing i'm wondering about is why my CPU Heats more on BF3 than ARMA 2?

stock cpu is crap seriously get a new cooler or youll shorten your cpus life span 65 to 70 c is beyond what it can take its max temp its suppose to handle is 61 c without shortening its span

Scythe SCBSK-2100 Big Shuriken 2 Rev.B Low Profile CPU Cooler like i said before would cut that temp to 40 - 50c bf3 draws more peformance from cpu then arma 2

Zalman CNPS9900A also works

this would keep your cpu temps down and prolong its life

also get thermal paste cleaner by arctic and clean cpu before applying new paste

wait for cpu to dry then apply a pea size ammount and spread it with a plastic gift card apply more if nessary if pea size isnt enough i find it is for intel but not for amd due to bigger die size

(I'm Living in the NL, so count the prize in Euro), But i can get a Cooler for about 50€ Or would you guys say it would be worth getting a FX-8320? I've been thinking about it. But if i get a FX-8320, What Diff would it make? And BTW, i Didn't Mention that my GPU is OC to 1100Mhz Core Clock and 1275Mhz Memory, Stock 1050/1200... Don't Know if that affects my CPU That much :)

occing cpu cooler isnt a good idea and fx 8320 would be a decent upgrade however it is a killer at pulling electric on the electric bill compared to that fx 6350 is better though but youd have to flash the bios

I'm Running The 1.80 Version On my ASrock 970 Extreme3 AM3+ Motherboard, Stock bios Was 1.60 :) But would my 750W be enough For a MSI Radeon 7870 GHZ OC + AMD FX-8320? If i turned down all Overclocks will say :)

official AMD documentation lists their temperature reading as "a non-physical temperature on an arbitrary scale measured in degrees"
"it specifies the processor temperature relative to the point at which the system must supply the maximum cooling for the processor’s specified maximum case temperature and maximum thermal power dissipation”.

AMD lists the maximum operating temperature of the 6100 as 70C
what this means is temp/70*100 = percentage of max cooling demand
ie: cooling system must displace 100W at 70C

actually zambezi cpu is just the name the actual cores it uses are bulldozer cores which are much weaker then fx 6300 fx 6350 an fx 8320 or fx 8350 as these are viresha models using tweaked bulldozer cores renamed piledriver
