Hi

I am trying to put a sata dvd burner in my ide liteon 5005 dvd recorder. I believe I have the right match that works, I am using a 2.5"/3.5" Drive SATA to ATA IDE Card Converter Adapter

So now while I am waiting for adaptor to arrive, I need to know what sat cable I need.

on the back of my new dvd burner, it reads above connection...... SATA POWER P15 P1 and next to it...SATA DATA S7 S1

I believe the other connection on the adaptor is the same , perhaps 1 is male and one is female?

Thanks if any help is available as what cable to get, have been doing lots of searching, the ebay seller had no idea

More about : sata cable

you have to plug in both a sata cable for data and a sata power cable from the PSU.

In a PC, one of those (POWER) comes from the PSU. The other (DATA) connects to a SATA port on th motherboard.

In your DVD recorder, it apparently uses an IDE interface. Old style drive interface.

You might try one of these:

Whether it will fit inside is a different story.

Well I already have one on the way, if you could take a look and tell me if you think this is ok would be great :)

Functionally, that would seem to work. Whether it fits inside a DVD recorder box is another question.

Thank You

Isn`t there quite a few choices between sata power cables, I am assuming there are male ends and female ends, mine is a 15 pin

Would this be the cable I need, I believe it is?

was unable to find a straight 15 pin male to female, perhaps the space requires they are hooked together, at any rate that was my original question that nobody really answered, but thank you for the helpful tips in the other regards

I am hoping I have solved it myself? Yes my question was in regards to what cable I needed

THANK YOU :)

I oprderd this cable was under 4 bucks with free shipping to Canada, not bad if its one I need
