I just bought a nvidia galaxy geforce gt 640 and I installed it but it's not being detected by my computer

Clean the pcie slot with compressed air and reseat the card. Make sure your PSU meets the minimum (350W -400W)
Make sure it's selected as primary/only video adapter in bios

OH YES I FORGOT, I found out that thing was trash and it was dead so i got a EVGA gtx 750 ti.
