Hi guys. I've been mostly lurking in these forums, but I stumbled upon a question that I don't have an answer to.

I'm planning to build a new PC by new year (gotta use christmas sales, if there are any :>).

Anyways, my build as of now would look like this:

CPU:
Intel® Core™ i5-4670K Processor

CPU COOLER
Cooler Master "HYPER 212 EVO"

VGA:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 2GB OC WINDFORCE 3X

MOTHERBOARD
ASRock Z87 Pro4 / Intel® Z87 / Socket 1150 / ATX

PSU
Corsair VS Series™ VS650 - 650 Watt Power Supply

STORAGE
Toshiba DT01ACA100 3.5" 1TB 7200rpm 32MB SATAIII

MEMORY
2x Kingston DDR3 HyperX Black 4GB 1600MHz CL9

CHASSIS
Zalman Z3 Plus ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Looks balanced enough.

However, problem is that I found another GPU and motherboard around same price range and I don't know which video card and motherboard to pick anymore :/

VGA:
Sapphire toxic R9 280x

MOTHERBOARD:
Z87 Fatal1ty Killer

I plan to OC my CPU. (4.4Ghz-4.5Ghz)
My PC would be mostly for gaming.
Games which I'd play would be BF4 (btw I know R9 280x works better on it), LoL, WoW, GW2 and pretty much every other game there is in a world, really. But those the most. lol

Many people have said that 2GB VRAM won't be good enough in future, that is one of the reasons why I'm looking towards R9 280x abit also.
Is there a difference between any other R9 280x and Toxic version ? Someone mentioned that toxic was better for some reason, don't really remember :<

If there are any other components that you feel like shouldn't be in the list above, (either not great quality or too weak/strong) let me know.
If you could tell me reasoning behind your choices and advice in general, it would be great. Thanks

The 280X Toxic and 770 are about equal in terms of performance. I would go with whichever is cheaper. The same applies for the motherboards you've selected, choose whichever is cheaper.

Where do you buy from?

Personally I would go for the770 and the fatality board. And maybe a better cooler.

For the mother boards it depends on if you plan on SLI'ing/Crossfiring in the future, as the PRO only has 1xGen 3 PCIe slot where the fatality has 3. If you are looking at a 770 I would recommend going for the 4gig Vram edition. Although the toxic will give you better preformance:

To Lycros: I buy from local internet store. I'm from europe, Estonia.

To Devballs: I would've picked 770 4GB but its slightly more expensive than a 2GB version, also it comes close to the price range of r9 290, which would be better I guess

Also one question which I never got an answer to: Is there a difference between any other R9 280x and a Toxic version ?
Toxic is about 30-40€(50$) more expensive than others, so I'd like to know if its worth.
Thanks

The Toxic has a better cooler and slightly better clock speed.
