How do i know what graphics card to buy

Hey guys,
well i personally dont know anything about graphics cards. I have a friend who told me that i should buy the nvidia geforce gtx 660 which is really good. but i have no idea if it will work with my computer. if anyone could help me, thanks!

post up your cpu/motherboard and power supply info. without these info we can only guess and your gpu funds.

the 660 might work but with an hp mb and case you have to put in a newer 650w power supply and check the length of the case to make sure the card will fit.
