When you install a program change the installation directory to the the HDD, some programs you have to choose advanced install to get the option.

You need to change the registry settings for where programs and programs (x86) install after you install the OS.

Use regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion

Change the path in DWORD for ProgramFilesDir, ProgramFilesDir (x86) to your desired path.

I usually just do the programs and programs x86 and it puts enough on the HDD without too much OS related stuff going there.
