Has Intel blocked the overclocking features in the H87 boards?

Hello,

I have recently received an ASRock H87 Fatal1ity motherboard. I've read months ago that Intel would release a BIOS update that would block the overclocking features in this motherboard.
Has this happened yet, or is it still possible to OC a K CPU on the H87 motherboards?

I want to be sure so that I can decide whether or not to buy a K CPU.

Thanks.

ASRock would release bios updates not intel. The manual for this MB doesn't have any OCing that I can see.
Typically you would need a Z87 MB.
But I found this.

Hmmm, I was looking at the ASrock website, and the only BIOS update was released on Jul. 8. I'm assuming that BIOS update which was supposed to remove the OC'ing feature was never released.

This is the description for the BIOS update
1. Support Non-Z OC with K series CPU.
2. Improve overclocking CPU fan behavior.
3. Improve Overclock ability.
4. Improve UEFI stability.
5. Improve UEFI guide string for multi-language.

Can anyone confirm this? I really don't wanna spend an extra $30 for a CPU I can't overclock.

Well from reading that it would seem that the update would BRING you support for overclocking, as opposed to REMOVING it.

I just purchased an MSI H87 MoBo, and one of the features it lists is the ability to OC in 1 step.

Has anybody tried this since the two BIOS updates were released for the H87 Performance? (1.60 in Nov, and 1.90 in Feb 2014)
