Title kinda says it all. I would like to know if Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 supports also amd FX-9370 or 9590 processors? EVO R2.0 is not on Asus list of mobos that support 9000 cpus, but M5A99X PRO R2.0 is and I can't see any difference between EVO and PRO in that sense... This is in case I would for some reason feel the need to upgrade FX-8350 to 9000 series cpu.

Solution
This CPU is only compatible with the following 990FX motherboards:

ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z, GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7 and ASRock 990FX Extreme9.

on the box of the M5A99FX Pro R2.0 it says "unlocked FX processor" and "9- series chipset" so yea the pro can use the 9xxx but the evo cant... thats the diff between the 2 lol

Old thread, but it should be clear that "9-series chipset" refers to the motherboard's chipset (970, 980G, 990X, 990FX) and NOT the cpu version. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_900_chipset_series

ASUS announced only that the 990FX motherboards will support the top FX chips. The 990X is a different version of the 9-series chipset than the 990FX. This is an AMD distinction not ASUS.

The ASUS website does NOT seem to say anywhere that the M5A99X EVO R2.0 supports the FX-9000 series.

Warning: This power draw of this CPU is almost twice that of the average CPU. Due to this, AMD recommends using at minimum a 1000W power supply. For cooling, AMD recommends using either either closed loop liquid cooling or full system liquid cooling.
