Hello, I had built my first computer about a year ago. While there have been a few snags here and there, it has been working well. However, recently, my computer has just started to freeze randomly. If I'm listening to something with noise, it will make a scratching sound. At first, it wasn't a huge deal, it took a few hours for it to freeze and a reset would fix it. However, now it freezes about 5 minutes after startup, regardless of what I'm doing.

Specs:
P9879 Pro
GTX 680
128gb SSD
1 Tb HDD
16gb RAM
Corsair h1000w

Sounds heat related... remove, clean, and re-apply thermal paste to the CPU cooler.

Check for a firmware update to the SSD

Reset all the cards/plugs: RAM, Video, power, and such...

I've cleaned out everything. While it improve it so it will last for 20 minutes, it still freezes

Ok, an update on all of this. I've cleaned out my computer's registry, and run a virus scan. I detect multiple viruses, but my computer freezes before I can do anything about them. It even freezes in safe mode

Seems like you have a clue...

Try using this (OS on a flash drive)...

When running from it, do you get the same behavior. There are some great utilities on it as well...

Try using what exactly? Are you trying to send me a link. If you are, I don't see anything. Maybe I'm just being dumb. Thanks!
