I've had this PC for a year, the problem is that my PC shuts off when gaming, I play a game for atleast 20 minutes and bam it turns off, the GPU temp rises to 62C and stays there, CPU goes around 57C-64C, while I play I can just hear the PC fake shutdown twice, like you can hear everything stopping and starting again, but it just keeps working and it shutdowns the third time, I can also hear fire type noises coming from the computer, like if you've been close to a fire you'd know what I mean, also don't joke that theres a fire flaming inside, what I've done so far is I changed the thermal paste in the GPU and CPU which helped the temps, I've added 2 case fans, I've tried cleaning the PC and I tried using old drivers, nothing fixed the issue, the only thing that fixes it is underclocking it by a lot, what could be the problem???

Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti
Intel Core i5-2400 quad core
500W Codegen PSU
4GB Kingston RAM
Windows 8.1 64bit

Well, it looks like you have enough amperage (needed 24A on the +12v rails). My guess is also that there are power fluxuations. Just doing a quick google search yielded poor reviews for that brand. I saw it for only 24 euro's on one site, which is only ~$35 USD...which is never good for 500W.

I would recommend buying another PSU if you can.

I found one that I'd want, but does it have a 6 pin PCI-E connector for my GPU?? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009RMP44O/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0045Y1EKC&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1JABFRFA436CJD3ZC28C

If its the same one I see on this site: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/600w-corsair-builder-series-cx-cp-9020048-uk-80-plus-bronze-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx-psu

It has two 6-pin pcie connectors (or one of them is an 8-pin). It has conflicting info, but regardless it has at least one, which is all you need. It also has plenty of Amperage on the +12v rail. Looks good to me.
