From i3 2100 to i7 2600? (For gaming)

With a lot of help from this forum, i decided to get the r9 280x and replace my dear 6850.

I have a h67 motherboard (that i'll keep), runnin an i3 2100.

Is it a solid upgrade going for the i7 2600? For what i've seen, i could have some improvement with a 2500, but not a big difference.(i want to prevent bottleneck)

This will be for gaming.

THANKS!

  1. Well , sure will improve fps ~
I think i5 2500 is more than enough , from my knowledge HT not helping much in game ~
  2. the ht of the i7 may come in handy more for future games, and bf4 multiplayer on 64 player maps see's a benefit from HT. so do a few other games. not a lot though.
  3. you think the 2600 would last at least 1 year and a half or 2?
