I want to buy a ROG motherboard & I don't know which one should I get Maximus V formula or the Maximus VI gene :S
Help please
Thanks in advance.

Solution
If I can make a suggestion, make a decision in this order
1. socket 1155 or 1150
The RoG series has motherboards of all sizes, for both these sockets.
-1155 is last generation, and you can build a system for a little cheaper this way
-1150 is newest fastest (arguably) generation
Both are fine for a new build, there isn't much difference between the two. Personally, I'd go with the newest, 1150.

2. Do you want a small, medium, or large case on your desk?
-mini-ITX is tiny
-mATX is small
-ATX is medium to large
Those are the 3 most common, ATX being the MOST common.

3. Motherboard. After you have decided those two, then we can help pick the right motherboard for you.

Or how about this, what is your total budget, and...

It can accommodate ATX motherboards but I don't know which motherboard to opt for, since Maximus VI Gene uses 4th gen while the V formula 3rd generation.

The two boards take two different generations of processors. One is a 1155 socket the other is a newer 1150 socket.

The newer is the 1150 socket for Haswell CPUs. If the price is all the same, go for that. I think the Gene is cheaper than the Formula anyway, plus it is a newer platform and the same type of i3 will be a tiny bit faster.

Thanks. Am gonna buy only motherboard + processor..already have a graphics card...but I don't like mAtx, cause it appears to be small and the V formula is more beautiful! Am thinking of getting the Corsair 300R windowed as chassis.
