Hello guys and gals!

So I am building a computer for FSX and would like to know if it's good enough. Simulator practice helps when your really flying.

CPU: FX-8350
Cooler: Corsair H100i
GPU: AMD HT 7570
SSD (for FSX): 256 GB Samsung 840 Pro
HDD: 1TB Velicoraptor @ 10,000 RPM
Motherboard:
Disk Drive: One I have at home
RAM: Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1866MHz 2x4
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5
Case: Cooler Master HAF X-High Air Flow Full Tower w/t windowed side
OS: Windows 7 (x64)
PSU: 1050 Watt Corsair 80+ Gold

My other question is about the graphics card. FSX relies mostly only on CPU so would a better GPU than the 7570 make a difference?

What do you guys think of this build in terms of computer speed and so forth?

Thanks!

I don't play the game, but from what i read about it it does do good or even better with a high clocked intel.
I have no problem with amd,but that's what i read.

Why put such a powerfull and expensive psu in that rig? You can use a much lower wattage version, like a 520<->650watt,and buy a intel cpu+motherboard or a better gpu.

All very good parts, don't get me wrong, really high standard and than such a gpu,i don't get that.
Like that velociraptor, why such a hd? Just as storage it's not worth the price, not imo at least. The Seagate ST1000DM003 should already do fine.
You could shave some money of by buying the samsung 840 evo ssd, that should really be good enough.

The Velicoraptor is 10,000 RPM, whereas the other is 7,200 . Big difference in speed. I guess I calculated the power wrong, because it said I needed 800W with that, so I wanted to have some extra room. Also, if I ever upgrade to a FX-9590, it will need much voltage. The SSD Pro is much faster and even quoted by Samsung, "The Samsung SSD 840 PRO is a high-performance SSD designed for power users. Capable of delivering
up to 100,000 IOPS, the drive offers the ultimate performance for power computing when it matters most.
Sophisticated performance enhancing features deliver consistent speed for demanding applications under
heavy workloads
."

But what graphics card do you recommend? FSX is the MOST CPU demanding game IN THE WORLD, and GPU doesn't matter that much, so I picked something great, but not amazing.

Thanks!!!

Well it depends on how you want to use your simulator. If you only want the original scenery, planes and traffic you're fine but, if your looking forward to adding recent payware scenery (e.g. REX + PMDG + Traffic + High Quality Scenery) and mix all of them together I'd highly recommend more than one GPU or you'll be seeing no more than 15 FPS with consistent drops at high density areas. Not to mention that nasty "Not enough video memory" error.

I have a stock i5-2500 with a XFX 5570 and 16GB Ram and can't get decent FPS. And that's when FSX isn't crashing with the error mentioned before.

Does that have to be a good gpu like a hd 7950 or a gtx 660 ti.? Like i said i don't play the game and it seems to have very specific demands.I'm trying to learn here.

What about the next system?

Still the ability to overclock, from which the game should benefit, and a,from what i read, an oké gpu for what the game needs, but it has 4gb of vram.
