Is Li-Polimer battery safe?

Recently i saw a videos on youtube that if you overcharge li-polymer batteries it will eplode.
Is it true? because i found an rc helicopter with this details:
(MASSIVE) 14.8V, 3000mAh Li-polymer battery
charging time: 3 Hours ( do not over charge as it may become faulty or rapture and causing fire)

As long as you are using a LiPo charger with balancer you will be fine. You will need a charger that supports 4S LiPo's as well.
