970A-G43 8gb Ram crashing

Upgraded my 8GB ram but everytime i play a game it crashes after like 5min i took out the old memory card too
Mother board: 970A-G43
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

What CPU? may want to try raising the CPU/NB voltage to 1.15 - 1.2, thats the voltage to the MC (memory controller)

What exactly is the DRAM - is this a single 8 GB stick, or a a set of 2x4GB (from a single package) ?

Might want to raise the DRAM voltage + 0.05, the FXs were designed with and around 4 GB sticks

i heard that if you update your it changes your timing too because i never changed my timing

Updating the BIOS probably kicked the DRAM to the mobo default, imagine it's 1333, can look in BIOS and see if you have an option for DOCP or EOCP (overclocking profiles) and if so set to 1600 to get to the sticks spec freq

Easiest to check in CPU-Z (free downloadable utility), run it and look in the Memory tab, will tell you the freq you're running at (and remember this is DDR (DOUBLE data rate) so true freq shown (here we want 800) is taken times 2 to get effective so 800x2=1600 effective, if it shows 667 ( = 1333) or 533 (= 1066)

Yes. it sets the DRAM to the optimal settings for the sticks, per the SPD programming

Depending on the actual model of the set - Yes, probably - you're at 1600/CL10
