You probably won't be able to RMA the PSU just beacause it doesn't suit your needs. RMA is generally used for defective returns. However, you may be able to return/exchange it for a different PSU (although you may have to pay a restocking fee or the like). As far as your choice of PSUs, I would never buy anything other than a quality unit from reputable manufacturers such as Seasonic, XFX, Corsair (except their CX series) or Antec.
As james97cheung stated, if you keep your current PSU just use an adapter (many GPUs come with them)

Your power supply has 1 X 6 pin and 1 X 8 pin (6+2) PCI-E connectors.Just use the 6 pin part of the 8 pin connector(leave 2 pin to the side of connection).
