I was going to get these two for a combination but then I found out the the FX-6300 could bottleneck the 280x while gaming and I was thinking of getting a FX-8350, however I can't really afford it, is it worth pushing my budget or will the 6300 be fine with the 280x? Thanks

Maybe a slight bottleneck , the FX8320 would be better to pair with it.

I should get the FX-8320 instead of the 8350?

It's usually good value and basically an underclocked 8350.

I dig your new avatar, blackbird.

The 6300 will be fine. If you can squeeze the extra $40 it would take to buy an 8320 in your budget, I'd suggest buying an aftermarket cooler instead and overclocking your 6300. This will provide benefit in 99% of games, while having 8 cores currently only helps 2-3 games.

Most people will tell you that future games will increasingly use >4 cores, but unfortunately that's little more than a educated guess right now. Even if it does prove accurate, by the time a major portion of new games use 8 threads, there will likely be newer platforms better able to deal with them.
