Greetings all.

I am planning a new build and am looking for any advice or criticism that I can get that will increase the likelihood that I build a good pc. $1000 budget, USD.

I will be reusing these current items for my new build.

Cooler Master HAF 912 case.
Rosewill Stallion Series RD700 700W PSU
Seagate Barracuda 1TB hd for storage.

and of course my working license for win8 pro.

This is what I am looking at purchasing after a lot of research. I am having one heck of a time choosing a video card though, as you will see I chose the Gefore 760.

So all you awesome tech savy folks have any tips or advice to give to a guy who wants a good gaming build with about a grand for a budget?

Thank you in advance.

i5 haswell
z87 mobo
the legendary 212 evo, not plus
there is no advantage over 4GB in 256-bit card
GTX 770 or any cheap gtx 760

So with the revisions, what performance would I be looking at in most games(mmo's and fps)?
Will I be "up to date" for a couple of years or should I sink some cash into something else to increase my chances of not performing an upgrade in 2 yrs?

I thank you for your answer.

well, since the cpu business is slow
this rig will still be at the top tier for the next 1-2 years

Awesome!

Thank you very much for your responses. I know enough to put a build together and assemble, but all the extra ins and outs I lack the knowledge.

Thanks again!
