R9 280X showing some problems... Need help!

First of all, I'd like to tell that my OS is Windows 8, so if this issue is on Windows 8 or something else than the Graphics Card, tell me please.

I have an AMD R9 280X, but it is not compatible to many games. For example, when I try to play Crysis or Crysis Warhead, the game crashes, and when I try to play Sniper: Ghost Warrior, the screen is black and white and upside down. I already saw benchmarks tests on Crysis and Crysis Warhead on R9 280X, so, is it Windows 8 that is not actually compatible to both? I already played Crysis Warhead on a laptop with Windows 8, but it's graphics card was an onboard one...
Do you guys think I should wait for the next drivers and see if they can solve it, or do I change for a GTX 770 for example?

Crysis and Crysis warhead are more optimized for Nvidia cards. There are some games also optimized for AMD cards. I don't think that AMD will optimize either game in their new drivers as those games are really old.
But, did your card come pre-overclocked? If so, try lowering the voltages to the reference 280X.

Thanks mate. But the thing is,that Crysis frickin doesnt even open (Crysis Warhead now opens, but I already played it for a really long time and I prefer Crysis 1 too, as its more open world). Also, I played these 3 games on another AMD VGA (a 6670M) and they run fine (at low-medium settings, of course), however, the OS I was using was Windows 7. So that's pretty stupid for an older VGA to support a game that a new one doesnt...
Basically, these games are either incompatible to windows 8 + my VGA or just my VGA...

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having exactly the same issue - MSI R9 280x, Windows 8.1, Crysis 1.

Hey dude! So to make Crysis 1 work, you have to use all the .exes and see which one would work. In the game folder, you have subfolders called Bin32 and Bin64.
Bin32 has only 1 .exe, that did not work for me. Bin64 has 2 .exe, one should be something such as Crysis64.exe and the other is only Crysis.exe.
Try to run Crysis64.exe, if it does work, you are fine, however, the one that worked FOR ME was the Crysis.exe (on the Bin64 folder)

Thanks for the reply!

However, before seeing your response I got so impatient and frustrated with it all I installed Windows 7 64bit and have encountered no issues what so ever!
