1 and 2 GB crossfire?

You need same ram capacity as the same data will be copied to both the cards.
Many people think that sli and crossfire double the capacity but that is not true.
One review I read, it said SLIing 2 titans will make RAM 12GB, but that is wrong, the RAM will still be 6 GB. Just the performance is THEORETICALLY doubled.

Performance is hardly, if not, never "doubled" when SLI/Crossfiring 2 cards. Its even less when you get 3 cards, and not even worth it with 4 (+5% performance)

Yes, only 2 gb of ram is used, as 2 gb is available.(do not count the memories on the cards as separate).
If you're gaming at a resolution less than 1080p, yes.
If you do crossfire 1 and 2 gb variants, then the 2 gb card will only use 1 gb of ram as the other card is using 1 gb, so the extra gigabyte is wasted.
And since the prices aren't exactly the same, you'd rather get the 1gb version.

But will 2x 2gb cards only use 2GB?

Would It be better to get the 2GB card as the primary and the 1gb as secondary, or just both 1GB?

Im wondering though, if using 2x 2GB cards, will you only have 2GB?

You're welcome. :)
Think of it as this.
Take two 9v batteries.
Connect them in parallel(+ to +, - to -)
then connect a multimeter or bulb.
The voltage remains same, but the bulb glows twice as brightly.
That means that the current is double now.
Same thing here. Twice the processing power, and same RAM.
That makes sense as well, as graphics cards compute in real time.
