I'll be building my gaming PC in 2 or 3 weeks, and I am still confused about some things.. I'm going to spend 900 to 1000 euros on my pc parts (without OS, peripherals/monitor) and I'm considering an Intel Xeon E3 1230 V3 as my CPU, because it's the same price as the i5 4670K but has hyperthreading.. What do you think?
I want to buy these parts:
Processor - Intel Xeon E3 1230 V3 or Intel Core i5 4670K
Graphics Card - ASUS GeForce GTX 770 DirectCUII OC
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA Z87X UD3H
RAM - Corsair Vengeance LP 1600 MHz 8GB (2x4)
Power Supply - Corsair RM750
Hard Drive - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7200rpm 3.5" HDD
Case - Corsair Carbide 500r White
DVD drive - ASUS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner

I don't think I will be OC'ing, but if I will I'll buy a Corsair Hydro H100i later on.
I do plan on SLI'ing my GTX 770 next year, that's why I need a Z87 board.

I hope you guys can advice me on this build.
Looking forward to building it in december :D

Solution
If you are overclocking later, then try for an 4670k. Although xeon 1230 is also not a bad option. But games usually have no advantage of hyperthreading but they do have of higher base frequencys and overclockings.
Other components are fine and reasonable to their price.

I'm from the Netherlands, and the Corsair RM 750 costs 105 euros and the Cooler Master v850 cost 140 euros.. That's a bit too expensive :)

The Netherlands :) I'm buying most of the parts at "Afuture.nl" because they're the cheapest around. If I buy the Xeon I'll buy it from "Alternate.de".

I'ts just a consideration because games like Battlefield 4 are already starting to make use of more than 4 cores. And 2 years from now I'll want to play Battlefront 3 (yay :D) on reasonable framerates at high settings on 1080p, and that game will also be from DICE so it'll surely make use of those extra cores. What do you think?

I am totally aware that games like bf4 and crysis 3 use 8 cores. But Having physical 8 cores and hyperthreading are two very different things. My suggestion still does not change. Games have no advantage of hyperthreading but they do of real physical cores.

So you suggest that I should buy an AMD processor? I prefer Intel though, and all of my friends recommend Intel.

No I am no suggesting to buy an amd processor. BF4 runs better on intel processors and Crysis 3 runs better on fx 8350 than 4670k, thats the truth. Because it depends on better optimisation of games. But I think you should get an 4670k over amd.
