Hey guys,

I'm upgrading my Processor, motherboard and memory. I'll retain the graphics card and power supply. Currently I use my PC for Maya, Photoshop, After Effects, gaming and casual streaming.
Budget for the upgrade is $400-$500. I plan to purchase within 2 weeks. If I can save some money on parts, that's good too.

Current Specs:
Phenom II X4 840 3.2GHz (OC'd to 3.4)
ASUS M4A785-M AM3/AM2+/AM2
Wintec AMPX 2GB (2 x 1GB) + (2 x 2GB)
Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W
Western Digital 250GB SATA Hard Drive

I'm thinking about a i7-3770K build because from what I've read it does very well in games and has hyper threading which will come in handy with rendering and the programs I use.
The i5-3570K and FX-8350 were options but the i7-3770k seems to be the best option for my needs.

Do these upgrades seem like the best choices for my needs or should I be picking different parts?
Thanks.

I didn't even realize that 4770K was the same price as the 3770k. I probably should go with that instead. That's also a really good deal on memory, thanks.

The motherboard you suggested seems to have a few things I don't think I'll really be taking advantage of like 3 PCI Express 3.0 Ports. Is it still worth getting even though I don't plan on using it or should I look at something cheaper with less ports? I do plan on overclocking.
