This is the PC I had already ordered, where you get a lot for 1000 bucks

However I wanted a decent 27 inch monitor and a decent Graphics card, the card provided here is GT 640 which is a basic card. Assuming that I can get rid of the 23 inch monitor and the GT 640, and put in extra, the total would come to $1152/-
Now I am evaluating this other option

This PC will be $500/- during thanksgiving, plus I add this card and monitor which coast $122/- and $220/- respectively. The total comes to $842/-

So it is $842/- vs $1152 (around $310/-) difference I am losing 20GB Ram and a Bluray player and apparently 57% more performance.
My primary use of the machine is Gaming and general purpose usage, and I want a PC which will give me decent performance with good frames rates for PC games atleast for the next 3 years.
