Hi there

I am planning my first build

I would like recommendations for the best graphics card under £200 but can stretch an extra 30 pounds if justified for playing games in high to ultra settings if possible

My current proposed build setup

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/27EFI

I wouldn't mind over clocking the gpu if it means better performance

Also if possible can anyone recommend a motherboard under £100 that is suitable for over clocking and possibly crossfire or sli

Thank you

Changed the Ram to 1866mhz from 2133mhz because the 2133mhz set was at CAS 11. I'd rather use 1866mhz with a CAS 9. The HDD you had was only 500gb, and actually more expensive than the 1tb model. The 7970ghz edition is at the very end of your budget, but it'll give great performance. Also went with a better quality Psu rated at about the same wattage. If you want to crossfire in the future though, you'll want to upgrade now to a 750w Psu and save yourself the money later. Gigabyte is a solid manufacturer for the motherboard.

:edit: Actually just changed the Psu out for one that is crossfire capable. The 850w is the same price as the 750w from the same brand that I would have recommended anyways, so went with it instead.

There i changed the motherboard, really good for overclocking and SLI/Crossfire, and for £ 230 R9 280x i think it is the best choice for price/performance

So which should it be a xfx 7970 or a gigabyte r9 280x also what is the reason for suggesting a 1866mhz ram rather then a 2133mhz ram if they are the same price which one would you choose?

7970ghz edition and 280x are essentially the same thing. I chose the 1866mhz Ram because of it's lower CAS latency. 9 vs. 11. You should actually get better performance from it than the 2133mhz set. If you want 2133mhz, get a set that is CAS 9.

I've decided to go with a gigabyte motherboard as reading some of the forums suggests they are good for heavy overclocking of the cpu now for gpu i believe since the R9 208x is newer I should opt for it there are 3 companies referencing this card which would you choose, MSI, Gigabyte or Sapphire all three of them are almost identically priced.
