So I recently made a new build using the RM750 since I was familiar with the TX series and I heard this was sort of a replacement for it so I just kind of assumed that it was on par(short-sighted of me, I know)

But after sitting down and looking at the specs after actually getting the thing, I noticed that this thing is only rated for up to 40 Celsius. That seems... pretty low doesn't it? I was expecting 50 to be honest so I was kind of shocked when I saw that.

I was planning on waiting for the new 290 non-reference cards but now I'm kind of worried about my power supply being adequate for the job. Especially since the 290 is kind of infamous for its temperatures at this point(though hopefully the non-reference cards fix that to an extent) What do you guys think? I know the wattage is more than sufficient but the temperature issue has me worried about what effects it may have.

Not using liquid cooling, btw

Hi - You are correct to be concerned, but more than the rating on op temp, that unit failed HardOCP's (1 of the top review sites), you should read the conclusion at the least & whole review if time permits.

I wouldn't own one based on the review:

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/11/13/corsair_rm750_750w_power_supply_review/#.UoPM-D93vKs

The unit has since been modified, and I read the Corsair statement on it, doesn't resolve all the issues covered in HardOcp's review.
