Topic says it all :)

I am aware of the noise from R9 290, but im mainly interested in performance.

As for 780 OC, I mean from like Gigabyte, Asus or MSI. They have made some OC models with custom cooler and higher mhz.

If you think GTX780 is the best of the two cards, you are welcome to state which you would choose.

Thanks in advance for your input :)

Do you plan on expanding to more monitors in the future? If not you could buy a less expensive card. If you were to choose between your two listed cards, I'd wait until the non-reference cooled 290s come out. Look at the benches and go from there. Also depends if you want...

Hey,

Im going to play with a single 1080p monitor.

My specs are going to be :

CPU : I5 4670K
MB : Asrock Extreme 3
HD1 : EVO 120GB
HD2 : SG 1TB SATA600
CASE : Cosair 500R
PSU : XFX pro 650W
CDR : ASUSDRW
RAM : GS TridentX 2400 8GB

My budget would cover either of the two graphic cards :)

I am in the same boat, Can you recommend a good 780 in the range of 400-550$? MSI twin frozr or EVGA or Asus? or any other ? EVGA has six models, which is the best?

The EVGA 780 with the ACX Cooler is extremely quiet. I'm not sure where your located at but mine ran me about $500 USD after the rebate. Beast of a card.

Also depends if you want things like Physx or AMD's Eyefinity and Mantle. Just do you homework and enjoy the one you pick.
