Hey all so I was doing some work to my PC and now when I start it after the windows logo it just goes to a black screen. I can boot into safe mode and have tried a system restore, last know good config, and windows repair. Before I turned off my PC I had done an nvida driver update so maybe it got corrupt. Is there any way I can put a different driver on there or flash the BIOS.

Thanks

I would personally do a complete remove of the previous driver. There is a good guide to do that here:

Okay can I do this without the gc plugged into the computer. I can use the on board graphics to boot into windows but I can't use my gc.

Well, if I would've known you had on-board graphics, I would have asked you to unplug the graphics card in the first place, so we can make sure that it is not the issue.

So first, unplug your GPU. Next, reboot normally and see if it works.

If that still isn't working, you can get into safe-mode with either GPU and follow the steps on that list.

If you are still having problems, it is most likely not the GPU, I would start over with a clean install of Windows.

If you have two different types of display drivers on your computer, they could be affecting one another. Make sure you only install the drivers for the GPU and not the on-board graphics.

Hey chumly I had already done that after I poster this sorry but that worked. So I shutdown my computer normally but didn't start it back up normally. I think that's what made the driver get corrupt. Anyway thank you so much.

Hey chumly so when I try to reinstall drivers. It goes to the same back screen again. I've tried windows generic driver and a nvdia driver and once they restart the computer it goes to that black screen

Okay so I ran the above program and then re installed drivers. After that I had to boot into safe mode and disable integrated graphics.

I have no idea why all this happen. Anyway that was the fix if this ever helps anyone.

I said you might run into that at: "If you have two different types of display drivers on your computer, they could be affecting one another. Make sure you only install the drivers for the GPU and not the on-board graphics."

Okay sorry I didn't realize it I was a little frantic at the time. The weird thing is I'm pretty sure I disabled igpu in the BIOS, anyway thanks for the help. I'll defiantly remember that program.
