I purchased an amd 8 core processor to a desktop with a new 990X Crosshair v formula motherboard. I have windows 7 ultimate on that computer. the processor is not working.
The mother board is not working properly and I want to re cover the data in Word for my laptop.

Update:Thanks for your quick response. Do elaborate on my thread. I purchased this motherboard new but had two missing parts. The I/O shield and the manual. I get it all installed and get zero at boot up. I hooked up the ROG USB cable that came with the kit and hooked it up to my laptop. It would not download onto my laptop. It is a Gateway NV76R....Windows 8 with an old Pentium processor.
My desktop was using an MSI Z51 motherboard with a six core AMD processor. I was trying to upgrade my board and processor. The 990FX Crosshair Formula V 3 way SLI seemed to be a good match with the FXAMD 8 core.
I also purchased a Duel X Sapphire Video Card.
Went to boot and nada on the screen. Attempted to install Sapphire software and nada.
Attempted to load 990FX software and nada.
So I take out the 8 core processer and it did not detach properly from the heat sink. Bent some pins, so I am assuming it is toast.
So I take my 6 core processor and install in and it bends the pins
Holly crap!!.
So what I was trying to accomplish was to access my internal 1TB hard drive libraries to download docs and pictures into my laptop to get some work done.
First, I hate Windows 8 and I have been using Windows 7 Ultimate on my desktop and love it.
Second Windows 8 is installed on my laptop and I want to remove it and install 7.
I know this laptop is extremely slow but I have work to do.
What are your recommendations at this point?

Hi
This one is hard to read and get but :
You have nice problem here :)
The only whay you could read you 3,5 HDD SATA i believe is to gain External 3,5 SATA HDD Box and install you data HDD to it
Next one is easy just connect it to you laptop
f.e. you can use this one :
http://www.transcend-info.com/products/Catlist.asp?modn...

the cheap option is to take the drive out and go to a friend with desktop PC
You can connect you drive there and till you have 2-3 x Beers you gonna copy & paste you data to you laptop :)
