No display on Computer + Replaced Motherboard = Still not working

Hello Everyone,

I've been trying to solve a computer problem for a couple weeks now. I have had this setup for over a year so the parts are compatible. A couple weeks ago my PC would constantly go into a boot loop and would not post. I found someone to look at my computer on Kijiji, he stated that it was the CPU or Motherboard. He claimed he tested the PSU and Ram and that they worked. (he did not have a working CPU or MB) I RMAed the motherboard first as that seemed the logical problem.

Since receiving the new motherboard, the computer now would not go into a boot loop. However, the computer would not post, there was no display on the monitors.

I tried:
-resetting the CMOS,
-one stick of ram,
-HDMI and DVI/ Different monitors
-Plugging display directly into MB (taking 7870 out) then reattaching 7870 and plugging the display into the 7870
-taking everything out of the case and doing bare bones
-Looked at the motherboard pins, there doesn't appear to be any bend ones
-Insuring everything is attached to the motherboard (8 pin + 12 pin)

Honestly, I'm kind of at a loss, and I want to have a working computer again. I'm debating if its the CPU, but I know failure rates are low (I didn't over clock). I'm also considering upgrading my CPU anyway since I want a i5 and boxing day is soon.

My thoughts: Logically It must be the CPU or maybe the PSU, but that was allegedly tested and SeaSonic is a good brand. Should I just RMA the CPU and wait to see if the problem is resolved? And if a new CPU doesn't fix the problem RMA the power supply?

I would appreciate any thoughts at all; I'm not sure where to go from here.
Thanks,
Alex

So you used to just use the machine without the video card, using the onboard graphics on the i3 ?

If yes, then you may need to change the settings in bios to activate the PCI graphics and possibly disable the i3 graphics.
I had to do that on my asus board to get my 7790 to show up properly and work.

So if you haven't tested that yet, that might be worth a shot.

Hey,
Thanks for the reply, No, I always had my 7870 graphics card plugged into my motherboard, i never used the discrete graphics ( i just tried that to make sure it wasn't the graphics card)
Yeah, I can't get it to Post so I can't access the BIOS. I also reset the CMOS. Any other ideas?

Hmm you probably dont have a beeper attached to the motherboard so you cant really tell if there are some sound warnings about faulty components from the motherboard. That would be the next thing to see. It 'should' give a notification if the cpu is bad, and if the PSU indeed is good then the CPU might be the problem.
And while it is unlikely, maybe you were unlucky and got another non functional motherboard.

Thanks again, Do you think its worth RMAing both CPU and PSU at the same time? I know the guy on Kijiji stated he checked the PSU, but it might be worth it to RMA both that way no time is lost?
Also do you know why it was stuck in a bootloop and when i got a new motherboard it ran. However, there was no display?

Hello Everyone,
Just a update, in case there are any new suggestions. I replaced the PSU and CPU (previously RMAed the Motherboard). I connected just the CPU/RAM/Motherboard/PSU but there still was no display. Tried various things CMOS and RAM in different slots.

I am preparing to RMA the motherboard again because it might be a dead one. Any suggestions?
