Dont have the game, but ive noticed DX11 features usually kill fps. For Anti Aliasing, there are usually nice performance reviews online...but I would compare lower AA (x2) against higher (x16). If you cant tell a real difference, go with lower.

That is a new game, a demanding one. Just turn down some settings if you want higher FPS. They aren't designed with the intent for everyone to max out the settings. Some people are happy with those FPS, others aren't. Some people have 780ti's, some even have 2 or 3. The dev's give options so you can choose what is best for you.

You won't get great FPS with anything at max settings.

Seems like you answered your own Q. Like I said, try the AA modes and see if you have any visible distinction...balance those gains by your FPS.

For me, any AA is much appreciated...but higher levels quickly loose the quality/performance balance.

AC4 is horrendously optimised. There's nothing wrong with your rig, but you will need to turn the settings down. I have the same system but with 2 GTX680s, running with just one the FPS plummets.
