Hello everybody!

I want to buy a new computer and as I am a student I'll have to be able to take it everywhere so I've chosen to take a Laptop. the question which arises now is: Which one to choose?!
I'll use it for Video editing (not professional: Pinnacle Studio 16) and for some Games such as Guildwars 2, Bordelands 2... but also not on a professional level.

Blue-ray reader
Hard drive: 750 GB
Operating system (Version) Microsoft Windows® 8 64-Bit

Well, by your budget, I would'nt recommend you none of those laptops if for 734€ you can get a MSI GE60 2OD-247US:http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GE602OD-247US-15-6-Gaming-Lap.... (no shipping included). That would be my best suggestion because Pinnacle Studio 16 is compatible with CUDA.

thank you for your response! I think you're right. I didn't searched for the right computer. could you perhaps give me some more possibilities in order to be able to make some comparison?

Also, within your range, you can look up for the lenovo's Y510p, which has a better CPU but a worse GPU

I think between those two I'll still choose the MSI for my use. is there any comparable computer to the MSI? should I tend more for a better CPU or GPU for my use?

All depends what you do AND what you will later do. As you say that you edit videos in Pinnacle which benefits more of the GPU (only with nvidias' ones, hateable) but at the same time you want to edit multiple videos it will lag more with the 4200 i5 (MSI) than with the 4700m i7 (Y510p). The only benefit appreciable using the GPU is that your rendering times or processing times of the final video will be shorter than without the gpu support, so, I don't think it is enough worth it if you are using this mainly for video editing.

BUT, if your video editing is just for a hobbie and you are enough patient while editing them, and you love to play in your freetime, go for the msi. The 4200 i5 won't make a bottleneck for any game except battlefield 3 or 4 (by the physics process) but wouldn't be noticeable at all if you play it in mid settings so. It is your decision because it is all about your needs.

Now, I think I've found the perfect solution: It combines the power of a good processor (4700m) with a decent gpu (760m) but it overpasses your budget by 160€
It is the Aspire V3-772G. If you can get those extra 160€ I think there's no better option without being crazily expensive.

Thank you so much for all your responses!
I found this model for 898.7€ and I think I'll get this one because it only overporpasses my budget by 100€ which is ok. Here is the link: http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Ordinateurs/Ordinateur-Port...
