I built my new rig this september and since then it as been running fine until now. The only things i saved from my old computer were my hdd and my disc drive. I installed my windows on my new ssd. Now ive been randomly having these moments when my sounds get "stuck" and lag out, also anything going on my screen freezes at the same time. Usually lasts for 1-3 seconds but its very annoying and disruptive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF9Pvdsz0UM Around 48 seconds you can hear a similar sound. Thats pretty much how it happens, just randomly watching a video and the audio goes zrrrrrr and everything stops for a while.

As for any diagnosis i logically assumed my old hdd is dying, with hd tune and other tests showed everything to be normal. Did kingstons own tests for my ssd and it showed to be fine aswell. Virus and malware scans done a few times aswell.
I also checked with process explorer to see if some process spikes out when the lag happens but havent really noticed any huge spikes.

Im considering just taking out my old hdd for a while and testing if it happens with only my new SSD. That would really be an annoyance as almost all of my programs and games are on the old hdd. Any ideas? Could it be software related? Driver related?

Hi
I agree with you testing steps - take out the old HDD and test
If the problem is still there i wil do :
- bios update
- full Windows Update - SP1 ....
Keep an eye on you CPU load ..... if you score above 20 % continuesly ....
- AV, malwarebytes , Spybot , Combofix scan ....
- if all above fail - reinstall OS
If this also not helping consider Sound Mobo problem .....
