Hello, I am trying to decide between the Haswell 4770k, and the Ivy bridge-e 4930k. With the system I will be running multiple virtual machines ( probably 3, two for gaming then 1 for running multiple minecraft servers). Then on the host host OS I will be doing gaming and various other things. So which processor should I get for this type of applications?

Sounds like you're going to be using a lot of RAM, and also need a hefty amount of processing power.

The Ivy Bridge-E will enable you to have Quad Channel memory, so you can have significantly higher bandwidth. (I would recommend 4x8GB for those VM's)

Ivy Bridge-E also has two more cores, IPC (Instructions per clock) is slightly lower, but the IB-E is soldered so you can overclock it much easier, with 6 cores it will be MUCH more powerful than the Haswell.

But depending on how heavy games you're running in all those VM's, you might be looking at Server processors (Xeon) for optimal performance. But they are MUCH more expensive.
