Ok, so i recently made an article on witch r9 280x i should buy if i get the r9 280x. Now im almost sure im getting the 280x main reason i want a new gpu in the first place is bf4 by old 7770 isnt good enough. But lets just say i dont get the 280x, the only other card im looking at is the 770, but idk if i should get that or not. Heres why im thinking 280x>770

-Less exspensive
-more vram

The reason i thought About a gtx 770 instead is because i heard that gtx 770 was really good and that the vram didn't matter a hole lot for bf4. Is this true? and if it is can the 770 max bf4 with 2XAA-4XAA without trouble? And if i were to get the gtx 770 witch would be better the evga superclocked or the msi gaming? Keep in mind that im pretty much only playing multiplayer. Ok i know this has been really long, but now im done lol, so please if you have time tell me what you think down below. Thanks.

well if you go for the 280x since it has more ram you can crank up the AA and the resolution scaling. i run 2 7970's and i run the ultra pre-set and 170% res scaling on BF4 and with the 280x you will get mantle with should improve performance 20-50% on GCN cards. but the 770 will run it on ultra just fine but with the 2gb of vram might hold you back with the AA and res scaling but if you just run the scaling at 100% ultra wont be a problem. If you really want the nVidia card try and find a deal on a 4GB version.

Ok so if i were to pick the 770 in your opinion what is better, the evga superclocked or msi gaming? i know the evga is superclocked but ive never liked the kind fan it has.

I've always used MSI products and they've never let me down. i got a msi MPOWER motherboard and 2 msi 7970's
OC'd pretty good and have run at those clocks for 1.5+yrs so i can vouch pretty good for the msi side but i stay with Radeon since all the crap i dealt with from the GTX400's so i cant vouch for EVGA.

Where did that number come from?

its not confirmed but i think its a better estimate then AMD's 2X-9X performance jump. they even said they wouldn't go through all this trouble for just a 10% increase so i think 20-50% is reasonable.

Let's hope that prediction doesn't come back to haunt you. :ange:

Great, still not fully decided on a card yet but right now its 80% r9 280x and 20% 770. Im also hoping that mantle will help to...This questions answer is probable obvious, but will they up the price after mantle? im 99% they wont but ive been wrong befor when i thought stuff like that.

Well take this for considertation..

R9 280x has 3GB of Vram GTX 770 has 2GB
R9 280x is 384 while GTX 770 is 256 bit so better transfer rate
R9 280x is $40 cheaper(except for toxic-x) than GTX 770.
R9 280x is AMD which is implementing mantle into BF4 giving AMD card a nice edge.
R9 280x has 2048 steam processors while GTX 770 has 1536 Cuda Cores
R9 280x is more power effecient requiring 30A and 550W while GTX 770 requires 42A and 600W.

What else have I missed?

Get the R9 280x :)

Why would you turn up resolution scale on a single card?
That destroys fps. lal

i dont care when i only have a 60hz monitor and i still stay well ahead of 60fps even at 170% the games looks way better.
