Bad Motherboard, RAM or Both?

Hi all,

I just finished my first build and successfully posted after doing lots of troubleshooting. My computer will only post with 1 of the 2 RAM sticks in only slot 3 of the 4 available slots, it will not post in slots 1, 2, or 4. The other RAM stick will not post in any slot, and the computer will not post if both sticks are in. Do you think the problem lies with the motherboard, RAM, or both? I'm thinking both, but wanted to see what you thought. This is the system:

**CPU** | [AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor]
**Motherboard** | [MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard]
**Memory** | [Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory]
**Video Card** | [MSI Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card]
**Power Supply** | [Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply]

Any advice on returning faulty products to companies?

Thanks!

The board has 4 slots. I originally placed the 2 sticks in slots 2 and 4 and couldn't get a post. The only things that works is Stick A in slot 2. Stick B does not work in slot 2. Stick B doesn't work in any of the slots. But, Stick A doesn't work in any of the other slots either! The manual just gives the Dual-Channel Population rule, which I'd like to use but since only 1 stick allows for POST to occur... I'm trying to see whether I should return the RAM, motherboard or both.
