What RAM memory speed can my motherboard support?

Hello everyone

What RAM memory speed can MSI 97A G46 support? I couldnt find a shred of info.

Also instead i had the choice to buy the ASRock 970 Extreme 3 mobo that SUPPORTS a corsair 8 gb ram that goes to 1866 mghz but instead i bought a corsair ram that goes to 2400 mghz. BTW i aldready bought the asrock mobo and the 2400mghz ram will this be okay? and will the performance of the ram get bottlenecked? or will it tend to fry the mobo? the model of the ram i bought is: (CMZ8GX3M2A2400C10).

Here's what MSI says for the 970A-G46 board "DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600/1866/2133*(OC)" found here http://us.msi.com/product/mb/970A-G46.html#/?div=Basic and then there's the notes from the ASRock board
"Note1: 4PCS= Dual channel, supports 4 modules.
Note2: 2PCS = Tested successfully with 2 modules.
Note3: The O.C. mode is not guaranteed. It depends on whole system configuration and other parameters.
Note4: For system stability, use more efficient memory cooling system to support a full memory load (4 DIMMs) when overclocking.
Note5: The mainboard supports DDR3-2000 MHz DIMMs only when you install a 6-core cpu to the mainboard.
Note6: DDR3 2250/2200/2133 MHz will operate at DDR3 2000 MHz when OC.
Note7: AMD FX series CPU on this motherboard support up to DDR3 1866 MHz as its standard memory frequency.
Note8: When overclocking, some AMD CPU models may not support DDR3 1600 MHz or higher frequency DIMMs.
Note9: Due to CPU spec, AMD 100 and 200 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066 MHz. With ASRock design, this motherboard can support DDR3 1333 MHz."

The Corsair Vengeance ram you have should run but it will be at the default speed of 1866MHz if using an "FX" CPU. If not using an "FX" CPU, the speed will default to either 1600MHz or 1333MHz even. You should be able to set frequencies (with an 6 core FX CPU) up to 2000MHz on the ASRock board. I could find no QVL (Qualified Vendor's List) for the MSI board... strange. Nothing should get fried if the ram doesn't work, it simply won't work right.
