Hey guys, im looking either for good gaming Mobo or cheap server mobo that supports ECC Ram.

I have following configuration, and looking for a good mobo to run with it. Whoever have tested or have sure answer pls, tell me.

Xeon e5-2689 + ZalmansCNPS10X 64GB ddr3 ECC 1600 Kingston KVR16E11/8 His Radeon HD7950 Ice Q SSDSeagate Pro 600 240 GB CoolerMaster HAF X 942 Seasonic 750 Gold

I have found two gaming mobo's that state they support ECC, but from my experience, producents info isnt always right, have anyone tried those or know some good alternative ?

asus P9x79 MSI x79a-gd45plu

Any word about these two: asus z9pa-u8 supermicro x9SRL

Do you have the CPU already? Just wondering why you would even be looking for ECC ram and 64gig for a gaming rig in the first place it way overkill big time. Even 16gig is overkill for a gaming rig.

I could understand if you are just looking for a motherboard to fit with a CPU you already have but if not you would be better off looking into a i5 1150 or 1155 socket based CPU and much cheaper ram and motherboard to go with it.

As far as your question I have never used server class motherboards so I could not answer that.

Yes i already have the CPU's, those rigs aren't for gaming purposes, just that gaming mobos are cheaper.

I already found out that none of X79 chipsets gives full support to ECC so i decided to go with that asus Z9PA-U8 on C60X Chipset.

Thanks, problem solved.
