I'm using a Dell Latitude D630 running Windows XP SP3 and recently installed a Bluetooth card and downloaded the software from Dell's website. The Bluetooth works fine in that it pairs OK with my tablet and phone, but it also tries to set up a Bluetooth PAN and a new cabled LAN connection, which says the cable is unplugged. I don't know what this is for, but in the process my laptop can no longer use my cabled LAN connection to my router, only the wireless which works fine. Under Control/Network Connections the cabled LAN connection looks OK and I haven't changed any of it's settings, so don't know what to do to be able to used it again. I did try uninstalling the new cabled LAN, but if I re-start my Laptop it re-appears! Any ideas?

update your ethernet LAN driver from dell how you installed your bluetooth card driver from dell. see that helps.
bluetooth connection is referred to PAN (Personal Area Network). When it asks you to install LAN, go ahead and install it.
but try installing the ethernet driver from dell again. see if that helps..good luck!

Unfortunately the Bluetooth software downloaded from Dell's website doesn't ask whether you want it to set up a LAN connection, it just does it anyway and uninstalling the connection doesn't help because it recreates it. I've checked my drivers and they are up to date. I think that what I want is Bluetooth software that doesn't try and set up the LAN Access Profile as I am sure that my laptop is trying to set itself up as the LAN Access Point within the PAN and not getting it right.
