Hello! It seems I need a new CPU cooler as my H70 doesnt manage my 4,3 oc 4770k. It gets around mid 70`s. My voltage is 1,260.

So, I do belive I need a new CPU cooler if I wanna play BF4 for more than 1 hour. I do need one that will fit in my fractal design R4. I`ve seen a bit on the H100 and the kraken, but I doubt they will fit with a push/pull system. So I probably need to go with 1 normal radiator with a push/pull.

Any good suggestions? I would like to oc to around 4,6 at max. I can go as high as 250 dollars.

A little sub-question (H)aswell, how much difference will a 0,3 oc do actually? Will I sense the difference at all in games?

I`ll probably buy a new one anyway, as I would hate not using all the power I could from my CPU.

I bid you good day.

Pardon my faulty English.

I just ordered the H80i, as the H100i would not fit in my Fractal design R4. The H80i should atleast make me able to oc to 4,4/4,6.

I`m also thinking about installing an extra fan towards the GPU, in the side of the cabinet. Any idea if this will help much?

I have that set up right now, with a 230mm door fan blowing on the graphics card and i haven't had a real performance increase.
I have the Sapphire Radeon 7950.
I overclocked it to 1050 MHz processor clock speed and 1500MHz memory clock speed.
Any higher than that, and the driver will stop responding during benchmarks.
You may be better off getting an aftermarket cooler to replace the OE one, if you are more hands on.

I had push/pull with two noctua 120 mm fans.

I ordered the H100i instead, as it was just 50nok more. The only thing im worried about is the installing. I was thinking about buying new fans for the H100i, but it seems that fans that follows score the best on test wich is odd, it`s proably because those fans work the best with the software.

Edit : I had to order the H80i again and cancel the h100i.... as the h100i would not fit in my fractal cause of the mobo. It sucks, but hey, the h80i is not much worse.

That`s what i`m doing right now. Push/pull with fresh air in. And I also got two fans on the other side pulling air out.

Works good for my case temp, my oc`ed GPU never goes above 80 while playing bf4 and mb never goes any high really, and I only got 4 fans in total. My oc temps is okay, i`m around 65 with 4,2 oc playing bf4. I was unlucky with my Haswell sadly. Cant get it stable over 4,2. I do think the H80i would manage a 4,5/6 oc.

A little annoying things is that a friend of mine also bought the 4770k, and he got a way worse cooler than me, yet he never exeeds 60 while playing bf4 with a 4,5 oc. Not fun.

I wonder if the case temperatures have an affect on it too. I have a Prolimatech mk26 for my 780 gtx and that keeps my temps around 45C on BF3 (no bf4 yet) and yet my system manages to keep the cpu cool. I also have 2 140 mm fans on the very top of my case too.
