Hi Everyone -
Admittedly it has been a few years since I've built a high power PC (gaming). In that time, a lot has changed so I'm trying to get up to speed.
I (think) I've decided on an ASRock X79 Extreme11 with an i7-4930k.
I would like 16GB running quad channel if possible. However, my hunch is the QVL for memory has not been updated recently on the ASRock site. I'm having a hard time finding a decent memory solution for the part numbers they list. (some have been discontinued, etc)
For instance, I was considering CMD16GX3M4A2800C12. However, the one they have on their QVL is a C11 (CAS latency is 11 vs 12). Maybe that's overkill, though, because if I go strictly by their QVL, I find that F3-2800C11Q-16GTXDG is still available for much less than the Corsair.
I was wondering if anyone has some good suggestions on memory kits for my situation. Performance is slightly more important than cost but I don't want to get TOO out of hand.
Help!
(and thank you!)
