Hello!
I would love to ask you some questions regarding a clean windows 8.1.
I have an original windows 8 pro license key, and I managed to acquire the free promotional WMC key fro adding it to the installation. Last month, when 8.1 launched, I updated from the Store and installed successfully, but I'm afraid the system has become quite sluggish, and I've been having some problems regarding services (not starting, error 2), reduced system performance.
By investigating a little, I found some workarounds (regedit editions) to solve this service issue (affects power plans too), but it seems it has to do with some permissions not been carried out from 8 to 8.1, resulting in access failures.
So, I'm planning to do a clean 8.1 install, but I'm wondering if:
1. I can use an ISO for 8.1 Pro with the license key I have from 8 Pro.
2. The promotional WMC key can be used in 8.1 to activate WMC features.
3. If it's actually a better idea to reinstall windows 8, and then update again to 8.1 via store (taking in consideration the update might have been corrupt).
Edit: 4. I found out my windows 8.1 pro wmc key currently installed in my system Can this key be used to do the clean 8.1 install?
