Hi.

My laptop display is broken and I've been using a monitor to connect to it.

I tried to do idiotically do a clean install but wiping the hard drive from MS-DOS and now there's no windows or recovery partition.

This is also means that the external drivers are gone because the monitor now no longer shows anything after I exit the BIOS.

So I basically need to re-install windows (or another OS like Ubuntu if windows isn't possible) "blind" so I can use it with the monitor.

When I leave the BIOS, the monitor stops working and I can't install anything since the laptop's own display is broken.

Is there something else I can do? I'm going to try to fix the screen later.

Thank you.

You need to run the monitor as the primary display, which means either from a docking station with the lid closed or try turning on the laptop then quickly closing the lid. That should force it to see the external monitor as the system boots up to BIOS, making it the default screen.
