Well, the R9 270X is a slightly boosted version of the 7870. It is a bit faster than the GTX660 is most everything.

However, do you trust AMD's drivers? I stick with Nvidia cards these days specifically because of ATI driver issues in my past with my Radeon HD 4870 and Radeon 9750, and especially the Rage 128. (I still haven't forgiven them for the 9.12 driver fiasco. That was after I decided to give them a chance after several years of avoiding their products because of driver issues all the while I owned that old 9750. Every time I got an ATI video card, I got screwed on driver support. I'm not doing that again.)
