I used to have a 120GB Zune but after I bought it, I started having problems with Freezing. I read that it was a battery issue and the fix was to replace the battery, I tried and I think I screwed the pooch cause it won't even turn on anymore. I wanted to get another Zune, but I wanted to confer the populace here on what to get. I don't want an Apple, though it would be more compatible with car stereos... I want to be able to stick in an SD card (Micro or whatever) to expand in the future. I don't really need it to play videos but nowadays they all do it.

Also, it there maybe someone out here in Arizona that can retrieve the data off my old Zune or just fix it??

do they make mp3 players now adays? buy a used cellphone off craigslist and use that instead. they usually mostly always take sd cards, have wifi to access stuff if you need, can choose from a variety of media players to use

Is that a rhetorical question? That idea is stupid, phone batteries don't last as long as the ones in MP3 players when listening to music and not plugged in, and even if they did, they will never hold as much as an MP3 player can.

I would get a zune, the one you had before must have been its late years. So if your not going for the apple products then get a zune.

Depends on what you like and are looking for.

For my money the Sansa Clip family is unbeatable. They don't play video, but the sound quality is on par with the best of the mainstream players and they cost less than $30.

I actually have a Sansa View, But it freezes a lot (only for a few seconds) when going through the menu...

Yeah, the View wasn't a bad player but not one of their better efforts. That and the Fuze+ are by far the weakest of their efforts in the last 6 or 7 years. The Clips have a better audio chip than all but the highest end mp3 players.

I have the Sansa Clip+. This is an awesome little device. I just don't like that it doesn't come with a manual so some stuff is tricky to figure out. On the plus side, the firmware can be updated with RockBox and there is plenty of information on it online. I got the Clip+ because it can play FLAC and OGG in addition to mp3 and the other usual suspects.

The Sony Walkman is probably the best MP3 player in production, although I don't believe it has expandable storage.

it's ok, now, this is what I did, I upgraded the memory on my PS3, this gave me an extra HDD, I then bought an external USB surround for the 80GB HDD, then formatted it to FAT32 and now am using that as my MP3 player, but it's only able to play in things with a USB port, like my car stereo...

I love Sony Walkman but the only problem is limited memory. So what else I consider while buying new MP3 player is Zune. I have used Zune HD32 GB and now thinking for Zune 120 GB, Gears of War 2 Special Edition MP3 Player but I think I'll buy iPod only because I love it. However Zune 120 GB is best alternative and there are lot of good quality reviews from real customers at Amazon that support your decision. There are also other options that people like e.g. Creative ZEN, Philips and Archos and etc. You can check here on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/s/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creat... for all features, memory comparison and reviews so you can make best decision.

Hope you get the answer.

Thank you

Cowon blows everything else out of the water. I have an S9, which is getting on a bit, but I love it. It sounds better than anyones home hi-fi. Try one and you'll never touch anything else.

Well you need to look at what you want. I was shopping for one about 2 years ago and I wanted a speaker with it. Back then all the speakers had connection campatible with apple or Bluetooth. At that time I didn't want bluetooth so I got an Ipod and a Logitech speakers. There weren't alot of bluetooth speakers around back then either. No there is a craze for bluetooth speakers (The beats, Bose, Sony and Jambox) to name a few.

You may want to look at the Samsung Galaxy.
