I have a Sapphire HD6870 running the latest ATI driver 13.11 Beta.
The PC worked perfectly like this for a while but I noticed that my GFX Card fan started running at 100% constantly, from bootup. It still worked like that for a while.
When I was playing NFS Rivals the other day the screen shifted almost half way followed by gray horizontal lines down the screen and then a black screen.
I restarted the PC and was greeted by the infamous apikmpag.sys BSOD.
I read every forum about resolving that issue and NOTHING worked for me.
That's not the end of the story though, a week earlier my brothers PC had the same sort of thing happen with his GTX480 where he was getting an nvidia BSOD related issue.
So I tried his card in my PC and installed latest Nvidia drivers and also got the BSOD.
As a last resort I put my gfx card into a friends PC who is running an HD7970. His PC just went into a boot loop.
When we took my card out and put his 7970 back in it was still boot looping and had to unplug the power cable from the PSU for a while to fix it.
I guess I can safely say that my gfx card is broken ?
Anybody else had this kind of experience recently ?
Looking forward to comments!
