Not sure whether to upgrade or buy new system

I have a system that is starting to stutter on some of the games I play (example: Crysis 2). Not sure where my bottlenecks are, or if the whole thing is old and I should just hold off and buy a new system at some point (I don't wish to make that large of a purchase now).
I would appreciate any advice on what some of my most cost effective upgrades might be. Thanks for any help!

Current system:
PSU: Cooler Master 460

Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series Device ID 6739 w/ 1gb DDR5

CPU: Core-i5 2300 @2.8ghz

RAM: 6GB

Standard hard drive, no SSD.

Let me know if you need more info. Not sure if the CPU can take much more GPU, or if I need to boost some of my other components first.

Thanks!

Your system still has plenty of life in it. If my ancient socket 775 can play Crysis 2 and 3 fine, then so should your system which has much better specs that what I have.
First thing to do is make sure all drivers are up to date.
Next make sure the game is patched
If both are done and the game still feels sluggish, then turn down game setting or even the game resolution until it's playable.
If you want to upgrade, then the only parts I see worth upgrading would be the video card.

Thanks Ip231, the graphics card seemed like the most logical place to upgrade, but I just didn't want to overpower my CPU and find out that it bottlenecks my performance. I will check out the one you posted.
