Windows 8.1 on MSI 970a-G43 Motherboard?

I purchased a MSI 970a-G43 Motherboard for a budget build that I am doing and I was wondering if the mobo has support for Windows 8.1 or if I should just go for 7. Windows 8.1 is cheaper, and I can get a student discount to help bump that price down a bit more. So my dilemma is that on the MSI site and Newegg it doesn't actually SAY anywhere that it is or isn't compatible, but on other boards it does. If someone has this particular board and has had any problems with it running Windows 8.1 to help prepare me that'd be great too.

Thanks

You won't have any problems. 16bit is correct, go with 8.1. They only drawback may be an initial delay in mother board 8.1 crap-ware from MSI, but the important drivers will all work.

I asked MSI Support:"04/24/2014 Trying to Install Windows 8.1 64 bit on RAID 5 Array created from 4 drives attached to ATA 2,3,4,5. Change bios option to RAID legacy then CTRL-F select drives , create the array, save it and boot. Windows doesn't see any drives. I've tried all the drivers I can find for Windows 8, 8.1 and 7 all 64 bit. Still can't get Windows installation to see any drives. Gave up on RAID and changed to AHCI. Same thing. Changed BIOS to IDE. Same thing no drivers to see drives. How can I get Windows to install, preferably on RAID 5 array. "
Their answer, "MSI Tech. 04/25/2014 David, we have no official support for windows 8.1. We don't have raid drivers to install windows 8.1 from a clean install. "
My Reply to their Reply. "04/25/2014 I can't get RAID, AHCI or IDE Mode to work. You don't support the most recent Operating System on your motherboards? Not having RAID drivers is inexcusable enough, but not to have any support for it? Are you for real? This is going to make fine publicity. MSI fails to support recent Operating Systems. Total Fail.
