New build will not display boot - no sounds either.

Okay, first off, my build:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X60 98.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston XMP Blu Red Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB Video Card
Power Supply: XFX ProSeries 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX

Now, I'm currently waiting for my GPU to arrive - it got delayed significantly due to snow storms (Yay Labrador!) but I have the rest built - and the CPU does have integrated graphics.

When I turn everything on, the internals all appear to be working - BIOS LED is lit, fans are all turning, and I'm pretty sure I have everything connected properly, but it won't display anything on the monitor - not even the BIOS - and I do not get any beeps/sounds either. I've tested the monitor with my laptop, and it works fine - but it shows no signal when hooked to my new build.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot my way through this? If required, I can see about getting images of anything that requires visualization.

Solution
I'm assuming the 24 pin power connector is actually a 20 + 4 pin rather than an 8 + 16 pin as you stated. If not, doublecheck your PSU manual.

did you install your memory in the recommended slts according to the motherboard manual? have you tried a single stick at a time in all slots?

do you have both power connections to the motherboard attached? There is the main 24 pin connector at the front edge of the motherboard and the 4 (or 8) pin EPS connector usually near the back of the motherboard near the I/O panel.

Yes I do - otherwise my CPU Fan wouldn't be running.

From my PSU, I have:
8pin+16pin (Which group together) connecting to a 24 pin on the MoBo.
8pin which connects just above the CPU (Cable is labelled CPU)
5pin which connects to both of my storage drives
4pin which connects to the case (Runs case fans)

Double checked - 16+8. but the RAM thing did the trick - single RAM allowed it to boot. Thanks!
